Jack Buckner presented his ongoing COVID-19 research on vaccine allocation. A vaccine will play a key role in ending the COVID 19 pandemic, but supply will likely be scarce when it first becomes available. Given this scarcity it is useful to understand how allocating the vaccines to different age and risk groups will affect epidemiological outcomes. Jack discusses results from an age structured SIR mode showing optimal vaccine allocation strategies in an age structured population given several objectives. Jack also discussed how accounting for differences in the risk of infection between the services sector and other industries changes these results.
